Practice is open to all club members only who would like to work on defensive shooting skills.
This group is designed for experienced shooters.
Drawing from the holster either concealed or open carry. With a variety of scenarios designed to challenge all skill levels.
We make use of steel and paper targets, barricades and shot timers.
Please do not shoot magnum rounds or shotgun shot shells greater than #4 at our static steel targets as it puts a beating on our brackets!
The range and safety rules are gone over before every practice.
We follow Colonel Jeff Coopers 4 rules of safe firearm handling which are:
- Treat all guns as if they are loaded
- Never point a gun at anything you aren’t willing to kill or destroy
- Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on the target
- Be sure of your target and what is in front and behind it
Cooper was a United States Marine who created the modern technique of handgun shooting and was an expert on the use and history of small arms. His rules are based on safe gun handling and apply in your home, vehicle, and when out in public.
