CLUB RANGES

 NOTICE: ALL RANGES DO NOT HAVE A RANGE-MASTER YOU ARE ON THE HONOR SYSTEM. PLEASE DO NOT SHOOT ANYTHING EXECPT APPROVED PAPER TARGETS. MAKE SURE YOUR BULLETS IMPACT THE BERMS. NO CROSS LANE SHOOTING. DO NOT SHOOT AT THE GROUND. IF YOU SEE ANYONE BREAKING THESE RULES LET US KNOW.

GENERAL ALL RANGE RULES

  1. You are your own range master so please use common sense!
  2. NEVER point the muzzel of your gun in the air or above the berms.
  3. Use ONLY paper targets except where a covert has been placed weith a metal reactive traget on the pistol and 300 yard rifle range.
  4. On pistol range use target stands and put them back when your finished.
  5. ALL bullets MUST impact the center or lower of the back berm. Do not skip bullets off the ground.
  6. Pick up your brass and deposit into the brass collection box if your not going to reload it.
  7. Be courteous to fellow shooters.
  8. Always use the RED safety lights when going down range.
  9. Please clean up all your trash remove targets from backers, sweep floors for brass. Keep it clean for your fellow shooters.
  10. .22 caliber rifles are allowed on the pistol range along with all pistol caliber rifles and carbines.
  11. Wear eye and ear protection at all times when shooting is occuring.
  12. Do not skip bullets off the ground.
  13. No rapid fire or fully auto firearms allowed.
  14. No 50 BMG allowed.
  15. All shooters not going down range will stand behind the yellow safety line and no handling of any weapons while someone is down range.
  16. All rifles not being used will be stored behind you in the gun rest with actions open.
  17. All actions on any gun not being fired will be in the open position and magazines removed.
  18. No cross range shooting allowed.
  19. Exploding targets are not allowed on any ranges. If you are caught shooting at these targets your membership will be revoked and you will be asked to leave the grounds immediately.
  20. Alcohol and Drugs: No person intoxicated by or under the influence of alcohol or any chemical substance shall enter any Shooting Range, or the SRGC Clubhouse, or any other property under the control of SRGC. No person shall consume any alcohol or any intoxicating or mind-altering substance on said premises.
  21. Ammunition and Explosives: The use of tracer ammunition, armor-piercing ammunition, or actual or intended explosives or incendiary devices, including binary explosives and fireworks, is prohibited at the SRGC Ranges. If you are caught shooting at these targets your membership will be revoked and you will be asked to leave the grounds immediately.
  22. Failure to follow the club rules may result in your membership being revoked.

The Action Ranges

Use of Action Ranges

The Action Ranges are for use by organizations only. Club members are not permitted to use the Action Ranges unless they are invlolved during an organized shooting activity. Use of the Action Ranges must be scheduled in advance of anticipated use. Action Ranges gate lock combination will be disclosed when ranges are scheduled for use.

Action Ranges use can be scheduled by one of the following:

Use of Archery Range

Archery range is open for use by Members during regular Club operating hours. Please park off the roadway and walk around the gate to access the Archery Range.

Organizations as of 2025 that utilize the Action Ranges are:

  1. Florence Police
  2. State Police
  3. U.S. Coast Guard
  4. Tribal Police
  5. Cowboy Action Shooters (SASS)
  6. Advance Shooting Practice
  7. Retired Law Enforcement
  8. JMS Shooters

The Rifle Range

Located on the west side of the grounds. The range consist of 25, 50, 100, 200 and 300 (with a Gong) yard ranges.

1. Safety is the number one priority at any gun club. To insure safety, when you leave the firing line to go down range there are flashing red lights.

2. Persons going down range MUST turn on the RED lights. Right away this notifies others that someone is on the range.

3. All rifles, handguns should be open, pointed down range and other shooters not going after targets should stand behind the yellow caution line away from the benches.

4. These basic safety rules must be followed as we don’t need any extra holes in other members!

5. Each shooter is entitled to one shooting bench at a time.

The Pistol Range

The pistol range is an outdoor range (soon to be covered). It is 30 yards deep with high berms on 3 sides. There are 8 shooting lanes. Covered and enclosed on 3 sides. A wood burning stove with wood is available on those’s coldest of days making shooting in extreme weather comfortable. The range is also equip with night time high intensity lighting.
